As a new SM owner and soon to be racer, after searching the forum I could not find thread regarding what spares to take to the track. Here is the scenario; I will have two sets of spare wheels and tires (1 set up for rains). If you had $1,000 to buy additional spares (I have all the tools and track support equipment that I should need, including scales), what would you buy?
I want to go to the track as prepared as possible, but do not want to tote around abunch of stuff that I will not use. If I were to break an engine, transmission or diff, I would most likely just load the car up and fix it back at home. The trailer is a 28' enclosed, with approprate tire racks and cabinets, along with a large pit box, thus space should not be a limiting factor.
As a dirt car racer, I got into the habit of never buying less than 2 of anything, typically I would buy 3 so I would have "new" spares waiting as it was normally a "when" it breaks as opposed to an "if". Given the simplicity of these cars and the reliability, I am just not sure that same strategy applies (although I know you can never have too much of something when you need it).
Thank you in advance for any and all advice.

Thanks, time to start assembling the parts. Your input is very much appreciated. Since I do not have a Torsen diff, it sounds like I need to order 2 of them, just exceeded the $1k budget.

You need 1 torsen diff, 2 half shafts, and a drive shaft from a 1.8 or 99. You need a spare diff housing for when you brake check a guy like me and I slam into you and brake the housing.

You can go crazy with the spares. Do like I do, i have 2 or 3 friends who I go to the track with and we have split up the spares so between all of us we can almost put a car together. I have all upper, lower front back control arms, hubs, diff, transmission, motor mounts, you name it.
I have everything except the part that just broke on my car.
