If you want try some new form of racing, this post maybe for you. I have an arrive-and-drive seat available for a unique enduro event at Infineon Raceway March 25-27. The event is the "Sears Pointless" race under the 24 hours of LeMons sanction. First it isn't a true 24 hour race, it is about 8 hours on Saturday, 8 hours on Sunday.

If you're not familiar with LeMons racing it is basically a low-key zany and crazy race of $500 race cars (mandatory safety equipment, brakes, wheels and tires are exempt from the $500 cap) All cars have to have a "theme" to get in and it really is a lot of fun. There will be around 130 cars at Infineon. The track is configured a little different that at an SCCA or NASA event. The biggest difference is they run the IRL T9, so T10 is much, much slower. T7 is slightly different, but all else is the same.

OK we have a 1997 V-6, 5sp. Nissan Maxima. It has been in 4 events and is quite dialed in and is faster than probably 90% of the other cars. You can pass almost at will, so the car is fast. If you're between about 5'8" and 6'3" and under around 260 lbs, you'll fit in the seat, wide asses fit fine. The car is really quick for a LeMons car.

OK the ideal candidate will have some track experience at Infineon and has hopefully been in a LeMons or Chump Car event, but not required. They will know how to drive in an enduro event and take care of the car. You'll have a blast.

The price will include the Friday test day (about an hour of seat time) the 2 x 2.5 hour stints in the car, one each day. Don't worry, its easy to drive, I'm 50 and barely break a sweat in 2 hrs of driving, It's easy to drive with PS and PB. So you'll get about 6 hours of seat time. The price will include entry fee, test day, good racing tires, everything except the $50 LeMons license. Just bring your gear and a fun and laid back attitude. Don't be confused, it IS racing, but it is not a full-on sprint, there are tactics and driving is closely monitored (ie. contact, wheels off, spins, etc).

If you're interest visit the 24HoursOfLeMons website and call me Brian 408-221-4412. The cost is way less than a single regional event in a SM.
