My camera memory was full, didnt realize it until I turned the camera on at 2 minute warning, no way I could unstrap and clear memory in that amount of time, so I have no video.
Todd Buras was nice enough to send me his, He, Pat Craig and myself have been enjoying it the last week or so and each of us has pointed out where we all should have won I asked Todd if I could post, he agreed, Pretty good stuff
Here are the links
part 1
Ironically, all of us were in position 1-5 at some point during the race except Todd, he never got to P1, but ended up winning, maybe he is smarter than we give him credit for Congrats on the win and thanks for the video.

Jim, I see 5 cars in the video...can you identify them please? Also, was Long penalized for pass under yellow or contact? Does this show in the video? Pretty obvious you need to stay in the draft at which point it seems you can pass at will...but do you want to?

I'm sorry I added to the original post
You need to stay in the lead draft for sure or your done. I was surprised Danny and Stephan didnt catch up as they were lined up and we were exchanging positions pretty regularly, but we kept the overall pace up.
I "think" the penalty was contact during a position change. They have cameras all over the track and call almost everything in.

First off, is Buras Italian? I haven't seen that many hand gestures since going to my uncles house as a child.
My interpretation of what happened in the kink is that a couple of cars got together ahead of the leaders. The yellow flag is waving and that gray backmarker (with all do respect...could be me...actually was at VIR) lifts more than the leaders anticipate. Bam! Is that a fair analysis? Tough deal.
Very entertaining video, though. Three-wide Miatas cut a big hole in the air.

Todd's hand signals have been a long standing joke, we never know what he is saying He usually is hand signaling to you in the middle of a 4 wheel drift through the kink and he is thinking we are looking in the mirror to see his hand signals.
On kink deal, just unfortunate series of events.. No one person is to blame IMO. There was a white car ahead of the gray Miata, (I never even saw the white car until I saw Todds video) The white car comes almost to a stop in the center of the track just before the two cars crashed into the walls, that causes the gray car to probably slow more than they would have normally, that started the accordion effect. That coupled with some blame on us as well, we lifted for the yellow, but I'm sure we could have slowed more as well, but we were pretty sure the guys behind were not going to slow and pounce on the opportunity with only a few turns to go, as double yellow was coming.

Great stuff, thanks for the video. That was like reading a book with an unexpected twist at the end. I sure didn't see that coming.

OMG, that gray car appeared out of nowhere on Buras' video. That could have been sooo much worse.
Drago,
Your car is like 50% wider than Berry's, I had the same view at TMS.
Good stuff, glad everyone made it out of that in one piece.

What does Todd know about not driving the berms? That car seemed to turn something awesome. Nice video, thanks for sharing!

The Kink is a real pucker factor of the track. Without removing any of the pucker factor a bull dozer on drivers right would give a view of the happenings at the Kink for a fair warning before arrival.

I agree, but it will never happen either...
Also, the run off in Canada could be improved as well. A bull dozer to double that run off would seem to make a lot of sense. I have seen many of our type of cars have VERY serious accidents there that could have been life threatening. OUR CARS ARE RELATIVELY SLOW... ChIp rolled there, Christian Frank went out of the track in MX5 -cup, Wheeler has rolled his AS car there. MArk Pombo most recently. I know there have been others, but can't remember. Somewhere Rich Weise posted something a few years back and what he said was spot on.. Something to the effect that you can run many tracks around the country with no real issues, but when you come to Road America, you better be on your A game because this place can hurt you and hurt you badly.
