Plenty of info about how to fill the diff. No problem there. Filled it often with the front end on the ground and the rear up on jacks. However I was recently told to put in a quart. Try as I might I have not been to do so in the past. Pumped in as much as possible and closed it up. Perhaps I've been doing something wrong. The manual doesn't call for a quart. However, being a competition diff, maybe it does. I imagine this could be accomplished if pumped in through the over flow valve hole.

How many ounces are required in the comp diff?

Is there a fitting to utilize the overflow vent opening?

If it comes out the fill hole and the car is level or nose down your good! I think our 95 manual said .91 quarts? Not sure on the 1.6...but it cant be much different?

IIRC a 1.6 holds about 0.6 quarts. Many people over fill for extra cooling. Don't know if it helps or not.

You can slightly overfill for some perceived improvement but its imeasurable. If you really want to over fill it you need to replace the vent tube and run an elaborate tube up into the car to store more fluid and then rememer to make sure it has an expansion chamber for when the fluid gets hot.

PS - NO!!!!! it's not legal but I've seen it done before and caught it inthe tech shed
