So... any information on hot tire pressures from those testers. A starting range would be pretty handy..

Any thoughts/rumors on SCCA (regional) vs NASA. This year in NorCal has been great as all regional events were on the RA-1s.

I'm picking up a set of RRs next week and going to run at a track day. Any guidance on pressures? Treat 'em like Hoosiers?

Same pressures too? I use 32 cold, 37 hot for RA1s.

I wish I had info from the tire test but I don't, we were in our cars for hours on end. Toyo engineers put the tires on and off while we sat in the car filling out a questionnaire about the session. However, I will contact the Dir of Toyo motorsports and see what I can get. I'll post my findings on this thread.

Oh and just to follow-up: All Toyo bucks earned from NASA the Nationals (Sep 8th) fwd should have at least 120-day expiration. If you earned one and there is an error email or PM me and I'll get it fixed.

The drivers who have run it so far have started the same as with the RA-1. I would experiment a bit though....that is what testing is for. You might find it works better for you at a different pressure.

Yeah, from what I was told by a guy who's run the same set in several 3hr enduros is to set-up just like RA-1's and use the same pressures,

So the UTQG rating drops from 100 to 40 from the RA1 to the RR yet the compound is the same? The difference in grip between an R6 and shaved RA1 is worth 2 seconds a lap on my car. While I know the UTQG is a relatively arbitrary from manufacturer to manufacturer these 2 tires (RA1/RR) are both from TOYO and to think jump in that level of grip 100 to 40 just by changing construction is suspect.

Anything official from Toyo to suggest the compound is indeed identical to the RA1?

Wouldn't the RA1 be tested with full thread, thus the 100.

I just didn't like the mark up. If I can get any shaved x/32nd for less, why would I get the RR, if the same compound. 2 more lines??

The truth is the 100 was an arbitrary number plucked from the sky when the tire was 'discovered' for SM. Yep true story, well that's what I was told anyway... So then that 100 got changed to a real rating number and got everyone's panties in a wad.

Nothing to see here... It's the same compound.

Two reasons why you will be using the RR:

1. This compound with this construction without tread (shaving) has better life and is faster. They will help the mid & back pack guys get quicker more than the pointy-end guys. Why? Because fast dudes are already on the edge and the talkative nature of the RR will give the mid & back pack guys more feedback to get them closer to the edge too.

2. It's the new spec tire.

Two reasons why you will be using the RR:
