Ok, so there seems to be a bit of indifference with a previous thread announcing that NASA is coming to the Pacific Northwest. Seattle - Portland to be specific. A very strong Spec Miata area with SCCA and Conference (a 40 year old organization representing racers from British Columbia, Washington and Oregon) as our current sanctioning bodies, with Conference generally having the greater number of total race entries.
It would be of interest I am sure, to hear feedback from SM racers, who have raced with both SCCA and NASA. Specifically, how the race weekends compare...the differences in how run groups are structured and managed. And any other issues of importance. Since both groups are represented here on this forum, I do not wish to cause anyone to share things which might be upsetting to the other. Just plain simple facts as to how a NASA weekend differs from a SCCA event.
It will be interesting to see how this NASA thing works out. There is already a tentative schedule for 2013 which includes dates at Pacific Raceway in Kent, WA, The Ridge Motorsports Park (a brand new must drive track) just west of Olympia, WA, Portland International Raceway and Oregon Raceway Park, 50 miles east of Portland.
Much appreciated!
