As a DOT tire, it will be interesting to see if this hits NHTSA's radar ...

Will find out this weekend with teams running in the 25.I wonder if any of the SM size have actually failed on SMs ... the Kumho V710s would split all the time, we ran them to the cords with no problems.

A friend of mine with a 99 and SM suspension had three of his four new RR's crack during a DE last weekend in 7 heat cycles. Photos at http://forums.rennli...-rr-tire-5.html. Toyo is replacing his tires.

So you only have to buy one set and then TOYO will replace then for free after each weekend?
If that is case I be racing NASA again this year!

That would be nice , huh? Nope sorry, now that the advisory is out, if you don't mount them and rotate them properly THEY will know......hehehehehehe. !!
This issue should go away with following the proper procedure. All R comps are made this way - ALL. This is what happens when you get a significant amount of grip in a tire.

I have very little faith that rotating the tires will solve this? We don't go the same direction all the time? Been wrong before, Time will tell. I saw the tires at PRI, they look really nice. This issue should go away with following the proper procedure. All R comps are made this way - ALL. BTW, No such problems with the Hoosiers and they seem to have "significant amount of grip"

Fronts push hard one way, rears in a car with power will push some the other way.

Not really if you can understand this.Wouldn't the tire layout depend on clockwise or counterclockwise? This sounds like a bunch of BS as far as where to put the DOT.

Thank you, I'm here all week, please tip your waitress.Bravo!
It may be a good way to remember if this is what it comes to.
I can just see the whole paddock humming with a tire in one hands while scratching their head..

This contradicts the instructions from Who's Yer....
https://www.hoosiert...rning/index.htm
"ROAD RACING TIRES: (Includes catalog numbers beginning with 43, 44, 45, 46)
In most cases, Hoosier tires used in Road Race applications should be mounted with the serial code toward the center of the vehicle. Once a tire has been run in the proper orientation it is acceptable to remount the tire in the opposite direction to even out the wear."

I was talking about Toyo. The rear wheel setup on the link should match what Toyo is saying, RF in etc. but I havent compared both. This contradicts the instructions from Who's Yer....
