Actually I have been to Topeka but I was like 10 years old, maybe I just didn't appreciate it because of my age.

Moose, maybe to cure the whole deal of the Asian carp migration towards the great lakes via the Chicago river (sewer effluent)the Chicago river could be disconnected from the Mississippi river, implement a tunnel system and direct the sewerage to dry ol Texas. Kill two birds with one stone, efficient I'd say.

Us Texans have a hard time stringing 5 words into a cogent sentence and so interpreting the meaning of a long sentence overwhelmes us. But did you just say that northerners are so full of crap that you have to ship it to the south where we have a dearth of it?

When I was a ski bum and lived in a dinky little mountain town, Texans (our #1 source of revenue) would act like they owned the place and were known for giving themselves a bad name. Not all of them of course but the ones that really left an impression. What do I know though? We're so full of crap we have to ship it south.

No, no, no, only the Windy city northerners have that crap issue. Around 1900 they reversed direction of this river between Chicago/lake Michigan and the Mississippi river to keep their crap from polluting lake Michigan.

I find it fascinatiing that everywhere I have traveled in the country when I introduce myself as being from Texas I get one of two responses:
1. Oh no, not from Texas....cue groan.
2. Do you ride a horse to work?


It always perplexes me when the state of my origin is derided by others. I enjoy traveling and meeting others and have never left a place in the US saying "I don't ever want to go back".
