I cant imagine its illegal, but I honestly have no idea... I know it can be removed for SM, but SSM is different animal!

I don't know about SSM. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I didn't see that he was asking about SSM and not SM. I agree, I can't imagine that it is illegal for SSM, but it might be. I still wouldn't worry about it too much though.Especially if it is aftermarket gear. I'd remove it and give a strong evil eye to anyone that protested it.

Make them "prove" your car had it to begin with. LOL
Best argument for removal right there!

No where in the NASA SSM ruless does a rule say you may bemove the cruise control.
January, 2012 – Version 2012.1
NASA Showroom Spec Miata® Official National Rules
1. PURPOSE AND INTENT Showroom Spec Miata (SSM) was conceived as an entry-level class with emphasis on simplicity, equality and low cost. SSM vehicles shall conform to Club Codes and Regulations (CCR), with the exception of the following restrictions or specifically allowed modifications. These rules are not intended as guidelines or suggestions and they will be vigorously enforced.
Just like NASA has a rule that spec's: 3.1.21.7.
In any automobile where allowed removal of seat belts, upholstery, etc., creates an opening between the driver/passenger compartment and an exposed gas tank, or part thereof, including the filler tube, a metal bulkhead which completely fills such opening shall be installed.
Many of you do not follow this ^ SAFETY rule in SSM or SM.

Does anyone know if it is legal to remove the cruise control to run NASA SSM? I can't find anything saying that I can remove it, but it looks like my car has some homemade/aftermarket bracket for it and if I can't remove it I will have to find the OEM parts.
Thanks,
David
At the beginning of 2012 SSM 'rules management' was split off from SM... Mainly because it's a regional class and I quite frankly was way out of touch with what the die hard SSM driver wanted in a rules package.
Personally I see no problem with removing it, weenie protest at best. But, I suggest you pose this question on the NASA forum in the SSM section... Hopfully those who wanted to maintain the class are monitoring it.

Reviving an old thread...
If you remove the CC Actuator, do you need to plug the vacuum feed from the manifold?
