With the new schedule (added events) will it be possible to qualifiy for the runoff within the CEN-DIV, Chosing path 1 and doing the "Finish eight races"??

Will the N+1 count as 2 races with two separate certification numbers? (13-N-XXXX-S)

I assume you would need to finish 8 races each having their own certification number?

So I guess my question is do we have 7 or 9 races this year?

1 BHF 4/27
2 BHF 4/28 (assuming this will be the weekend SM gets 2 races)
3 ABJ 5/18
4 BIR 5/25
5 BIR 5/25
6 RA 6/15
7 RA 6/16 (assuming this will be the weekend SM gets 2 races)
8 BHF 6/30
9 RA 7/28

Let me clarify the finish 8 races path to attending the 2013 Runoffs. This path is in the Nationwide Points. All of the 8 races finished can be out of Central Division. The only thing you must do regarding your home Division is start two races in it. So if you race at 4 Double Nationals, one race which is in your home Division, finish out of the points at all, you have 8 finishes and you are qualified for the Runoffs. And for the Nationwide, you could also get 10 points and be qualified. For that, you'd need two in division starts and 4 total finishes anywhere.

The Division path is that the top 3 finishers in Division will be eligible to enter the Runoffs. In Division, you must start two in Division and finish a total of 4 races. Best three out of Division will count for for in Division points. All four finishes can be out of Division but you must have enough points to finish in top 3 positions in your class. You can count you best 7 finishes, three of which can be out of Division.

For the Majors, you must practice, qualify or race at least one race each Majors weekend for three events. Points make no difference other than a Majors class champion. You can not bring Majors points from one conference to another. However, the 3 Majors races at which you compete can be in any conference. Say you entered Sebring and broke in qualifying. That counts one Majors. Then you get into COTA and post a qualifying time, but get taken out on lap 1. That count 2 Majors. Then, you go to the June Sprints and finsh 54th. That counts three Majors and you are qualified for the Runoffs.

Easiest way is be Drago, Von C or one of the past Champions. Then, all you need is a car and a National license and you're in for 2013.

Hope this helps clear it up. If you want to ask me specific things, my email is jcreig53@mindspring.com.
I'll try to help you if I can.

Jim, ask the National office if you can sell your place as past National Champion to someone else since you will obviously qualify via one or more of the other routes. Then, put it on the SM Bay--(new bidding area of Forum).
