Reviving old thread. Did you ever do the plasti-dip? I'm thinking of doing a whole car in multiple colors but am also wondering about how it would hold up to rubbing, tire marks, etc.
I'm full-body diping a sh!tbox 1.6 that I'm using to run around town as a test... If it works okay I'll probably full-body dip my new 99SM Koi Orange.
My company is now a reseller so if you wanna try it please support a fellow racer.

Paul contact Jame Namer....NASA NE TT director. He dipped his RX-7 in White. It looked good in pictures, but I know he recently started peeling it off.

Thanks Vick. According to Jake this is not a great options for a race car especially in a light color. Cleaning is too difficult and stickers don't hold up. Oh well.

Having has similar issues keeping paint on plastic tail tanks on my sprint cars, I learned that the solution to making any paint adhere to plastic is to prep the surface well and use an adhesion promoter (as Jim D. suggested above with the link). You can also add a flex agent to the paint if you're mixing and shooting through an air gun, so that the paint is less susceptible to cracking when impacted. Sounds like a lot, but really it's relatively simple stuff, and will save frustration and time down the line.
