Looking for the drive shaft alignment procedure for a 99. I have the shop manual for my 97 which says that at a certain point on the trans it is 2.6 inchs above a horizontal line drawn from the 2 frame rails. I am just not sure if it the identical procedure for the 99, and I don't have a shop manual. Any help?

Thanks Jim, I am assuming the distanceis also the same 2.6inches? Jim do have the gap for the crank sensor on a 99?

From memory, the gap is .0035 to .0045.

&nbsp; < <<<< That's a mysterious format.

Vertical distance of the transmission case to something of the chassis. See post #1 and #2.

And this is done how? Before you tighten PPF bolts?

Before, You can set the height with a floor jack under the transmission. Measure again after you tighten up the PPF bolts. The factory specifies a range for the measurement.

Well, I guess the system will work no matter how/where you tighten these! Either that or I've gotten lucky! Had no idea this could vary...but now that I think about it some of those holes are slotted! guess I should check! So I guess if its off...you get a little extra undue stress on the U joints?

On another note why is the "Quote" not in a box anymore??

If you get the alignment way off, you might get some drive line vibration.
