So I'm installing a head restraint seat in my car.  OMP HTE is what I picked up.

I hammered the heck out of my tunnel when I put my recaro profi in.  I have not installed Drago's cut out.  As it is, this seat's o/s padding is pushing against the tunnel and rocker panel.

The seat actually goes in, and I still fit in the car (I'm 6'2"), but it looks like the head restraint sticks out of where the window would be a bit.

Here are some pics, and also a shot of where my profi was for comparison.

I guess for people with other seats (racetech, momo, etc) the width of the HR area at it's widest point is 19.5"

Doesn't look nearly as bad from those shots.  Sure it's level?

It was level Mr Muda.  At the end of the day though I just thikn she's a no go.  Shame, comfy seat.  The halo is just too darn big to keep inside the window, let alone the main hoop.

Vick, I have an OMP HTE in my 91.  It did require a tunnel cut-out to fit.  If I had it to do over again, I would give the installation a couple more degrees of lean back, and a degree or two of negative camber to get my helmet farther from the above-the-window bar.  The head restraint does hold the drop-in window out enough to make it leak water, but that's not an issue.

Vick I put an Ultrashield halo seat in my car back in 2007.

Fitment was tight on the drivers side, but by notching the tunnel and better centering the seat under the column, it squeezed in.

See the pics I just dug up and posted in my gallery:

Thanks guys.

I actually returned the seat, and splurged on the race tech.  The other advantage was I could get the racetech further back in the car.

Probably going to buy the drago tunnel panel, though I was able to get the seat centered on the wheel.

Always an adventure with these cars.
