Hey guys. New to this forum but not racing. I have a 96 Miata that I'm starting to put the finishing touches on. I go to do the alignment and several of the bolts with the eccentrics broke. The under side of the car is fairly rusty and pb blaster and heat didn't help.  Where can I find these bolts? I searched this forum as well as google and having trouble. Thanks.

EDIT- I searched "alignment bolts" and turned up more options.

I would replace all of the hardware. You can get a complete set for all 4 corners for $80 here http://949racing.com...90-05miata.aspx

These bolts have been redesigned and are much better than the factory parts that came on the car.

What you are after is called the "Cam Bolt" and is available from Mazda Motorsports (you are a member...right...RIGHT?) for $6.78 per cam bolt.

Part number is :  NAY9-28-6AZ

And yes, the new ones are MUCH better than the old.

You should really only tighten a cam bolt 4 to 6 times, that is all it was really made for.  I add a washer and maybe use two more times then replace.

Just so you are clear, The item sold by 949 racing is the oem allignment cam. Their website even lists the part number. Available through Mazdaspeed for $6.78 each or $54.24 for a set of 8.

Like meathead says, 6-8 tightenings is all you get. Put a washer under the nut and you will get another couple tightenings. Then replace.

Dave, I ordered cam bolts from 949 and received the cam bolt including the nuts, $80 shipped. I also ordered some extra's from Mazda, the cam bolt is $6.78 each, but you have to order the nut separately ( FB01-28-091A) at $4.45 ea so a complete set cost just over $100 with shipping.  Are you saying you normally get the nut included with that $6.78 price?

I have ordered hundreds of these from Mazda, never had to buy the nut seperately. Just looked at a sealed bag from Mazda and the nuts are in the same bag with only one part number on it.

Way to quite.

After 6-8 re-tighten, how much do the new cam bolts stretch?

Enough that they no longer stay where you set them.

Come on Mike, that's like when the guy asks, how long is a piece of string. Response, twice the distance from the middle to one end.

You have way more new and used cam bolts than I. Measure a new cam bolt and one that's been stretched 6-8 times. Post the dimensions.

I usually use a season, that is far more than 6-8 re tightens for me. Then swap out before the runoffs and the shaker table better known as Road America.

Who are you kidding?  You change the whole car every season.
