Make sure you contact the region you are going to race in before attempting to use a NASA license for an SCCA race or vice-versa. While either sanctioning body will allow the use of the other body's license, most will require membership in the event's sanctioning body PLUS require that you apply for THEIR license; both at the time of registration. This could mean a hefty outlay of cash and possibly the need to have your medical papers with you.

Agreed. You will not have to go through race school, but you will have to be a SCCA member and either have a waiver (locally) for the license or simply apply to SCCA headquarters for a license. You will need your medical papers that are on file with NASA. NASA is pretty much the same way if you have an SCCA license. DON'T arrive at track side registration without sorting this out first unless you want to watch racing. Call member services at SCCA if you have questions, they are typically pretty helpful - as will be the local SCCA division.

It will also need to be stated in the supps if you are going to strictly race off your NASA license.
