Last 3 1/2 laps of the race.  Young aggressive drivers battling for the win, without taking each other out!  3 wide up the hill in turn 3 on the last lap.  I have never seen that before.

There is a bunch of young talent out West and in Texas in the Teen Mazda Challenge.

The Sunday Teen Mazda Challenge race was incredible. Charlie Hayes dominated the Saturday race and forced everybody to up their game for Sunday. Joey Jordan and Joey Bickers brought something extra on Sunday to make it tougher for Charlie. The Sunday race was easily the best SM race I've ever seen. I lost count of the number of lead changes. The entire race was a cliff hanger from the drop of the green flag as none of the top 3 could gain an advantage over the others and the lead changes were constant. Whoever led through T9 was inevitably drafted by and passed going into T1. Passes were made almost everywhere on the track.Three wide through 3 and 4 at Willow with no contact. I didn't think that was possible. Awesome respect and ettiquite for such young drivers. Excellent driving by the top three and throughout the whole field. Aggressive and yet controlled. The Spec E30 racers did everything they could to stay out of the way of the intense SM battle as the SM's worked their way through - excellent race ettiqute by that crowd. At the end of the race the entire grandstand stood and applauded.

Some great driving at the front loved watcing the Vids!  Makes me want to come out there and race...

After meeting 2 of you guys at the 2012 Nasa champs and watching how you conducted yourselves there, both of you will enjoy much lasting success in racing with SM and beyond!

Video from the tired tires section.  A few bumpdrafts that the folks back east might turn their noses up at.

Question 1;

A. Did you jump the start? If no then

B. Did you have your restrictor plate in? If yes then

C. Were all 8 competitors I can see in the video asleep when the green flag dropped?

Question 2:  The sanctioning body let you race with that shattered windshield?

A. no

B. yes.

C. oh yes.  My theory is all the start jumping by Elliott has everyone in the region trained to watch the pole rather than the starter.  Charlie is pretty good about an honest start, so I was watching the flagger.

NASA, where they treat racers like grown ups.  Honestly, the visibility was way better than the times I forgot to clean the windshield in the morning.  I don't know why people lose their sh*t over a cracked windshield.  It's a small distraction, not a blindfold.
