First of all, I cannot say enough good things about the guys from Oregon. I'd already met and raced with WIll and Sean, but was my first time meeting Ken, Matt, Gary, and Jordan. They were fast (as you could imagine having won E3 at the 25hour), but raced very fair and were all great to be around in the paddock. This was one of the funnest weekends I've had racing in a long time. Despite the fact that I developed a suspension issue on Sunday and ended up racing on my 15 heat cycle, flat-spotted practice tires. The right rear was chewing up tires and ate my race set (Inside groove looked new, outside groove was virtually gone after just a couple of sessions.) We do a compressed schedule on Sunday so there was no time to dig into it. I still had a blast trying to drive around it.
Qualifying was really close with the top 7 within .9 or so and I think all of us under the previous years' track record. Will was on pole with an 18.0 with the 2010 NASA Champ McKeever just .1 behind. So did we let the out of towners show up and win at our home track as Drago would put it? Watch the vid and find out.
Thanks again to the Oregon crew for making the long tow. If there is anything we can do to help get you guys back before Nats, just let us know. Otherwise we'll see you in September!
