Here is an additional view of the Saturday start.  Still working with my novice permit, I learned that there is WAY less gription on grass than on pavement!

Nice agricultural wheeling the car Jonathon!

I am guilty as one of the black flag racers. I was racing in a pack and didn't see any flags until T10. Took until the approach to Oak Tree to get slowed up without causing more carnage. By that time I think we passed 6-8 cars.

  Jonathan,

I was the white car (#66) directly in front of you. A huge thanks for not plowing into me when everyone slammed on the brakes in front of me. Great job keeping going in the right direction.

Wow,

I was right behind the incident on Saturday. I almost had to come to a complete stop to stay out of it.

Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky on Sunday. We ran two by two from turn one all the way to the entrance of turn six. I was trying to give the driver to my left the line into the corner because he was in the better position but the driver behind me was not as patient and pile drove me into the tires at 70 mph+.

Thanks to all the drivers that missed me while I was setting drivers side toward oncoming traffic, in the middle of the track. It ended up putting me in medical for only the second time in my 20 years as a member. And it has taken me up until today to get the use of my right hand back........ Do you know how hard it is to do things left handed that you have never tried before...like brushing your teeth, or wiping your / well you know what I mean...

Anyway,......... I think before I race SM again I will need to finish my 99 so I have a better chance of qualifying closer to the front.......... My poor little 1.6 car just doesn't have the legs........ And I'm a little better at wheeling my 99...

Here is my view of Sundays racing.  The black car is Dillon Machavern, red car is Todd Lamb, orange car is Dan Tiley.

Enjoy

Thanks for posting Keith!  I was beginning to think there was a big crash on Saturday and everyone went home  :raincloud: .

What a fun race.  Dillon and Todd's side by side run up the esses @ 4:40 is pretty sweet.  And going into the last lap with 4 guys with a legitimate shot at the win after 40 minutes of nose to tail, side by side racing was even better.  The racing on Saturday was similar.... just ALOT shorter.  Doesn't get much better than Spec Miata!

Not a big wreck Dan, but this is partly how the top 12 gapped the field on L2 of Sunday's race.

For me it was great just to be back in the car again after almost a year.

Whoa.... just squeaked by there!  I think you and Jonathan should enter a Miata in the Baja 1000 together sometime    Might have a legit shot!
