Rotate the steering wheel lock to lock counting the turns and partial turn. Rotate the steering wheel one half the turns back from either lock. Your steering wheel will be centered. under the hood I use two small vise grips lightly clamped to the steering shaft with one stoped against the heat shield for the header and the other stoped against the unibody. Here is a de-power tutorial that I used to understand the innards or the power steering. http://www.flyinmiat...depower.php?x=1 I didn't remove the seals. I had no issues after reassembly. At this point if your wheels are not aimed straight ahead or you have to little thread engagement of the tie rod end into the steering knuckle ask Collins what to do.
Pat, keep in mind my profile saying, "different strokes for different folks". Others process will vary.
loaded question...center the steering wheel or center the steering rack...not the same thing typically....
