I can't find it posted on any of the websites yet and I didn't want this to get lost in the M-O thread, but this past weekend the stewards approved a new schedule splitting SM & SRF for ALL sessions this weekend.

The Q.1 sessions for each race are 20 minutes, then the Q.2 sessions are 15 minutes but they will be gridded by best times in the respective Q.1s (which maximizes your chances of getting a clean lap).  If you were on the fence about attending this event because SM is grouped with SRF, that is no longer an issue!

I would think that change would be a deal maker. For those of you who haven't made a Majors race this year, you are in for a fun weekend. Lot's of special attention, an announcer, and Butch will be there fresh from his winning drive in GT2 at Michigan last weekend. Even with a slipping clutch, he turned the 2nd overall fastest lap of the race and on the last lap. Go by and get his autograph while you can. And if you've never run Mid Ohio, it's a drivers track. Be consistent and be rewarded. When you leave, you'll be looking forward to you next trip there. Fun track.

I tried to post it but I could not get it to format correctly. If you look at my post on the SCCA Great lakes fourm you will find it unformatted

Bottom line SM has its own qualfing and race run group.

Friday

1 20 min qualfier and 1 15 min qualifer for Sat and one 20 min qualifer for Sunday Total = 3

Saturday

1 15 min qualfier for Sunday a 45 min race

Sunday

1 45 min race.

SM is group #4 you are done Sunday at 1:25 pm.

this is 19 lap races.

???

In the latest version (I can't attach it either), STL is in Group 1, SRF is Group 2 (stand alone), SM is Group 4 (stand alone).

Latest revision is up on the Majors website: http://scca.cdn.race...hed_Revised.pdf

It doesn't say Q.2 (the 15-minute sessions) will be gridded based on Q.1 times, but it will be done.
