I've tried once and found it very difficult without damaging the reservoir...
At the end of the day, I needed a new master so replaced the complete set for ~$60 !

Make sure you have the screw that secure it out and then it just pops out as I recall ,, might need some help from a screwdriver

I remove the brake reservoir at the end of each race day in order to clean it, as I see some dirt at the bottom of the cup.
At least on my 1990 this is the procedure:
0. Raise the rear of the vehicle to make the master brake cylinder sit level.
1. Disconnect the wire from the master cylinder (if any).
2. Get a shopping bag under the master brake cylinder and the reservoir in order to catch fluids.
3. Remove the cap.
4. Use turkey baster (clean) to remove the fluid from the cup.
5. Remove the screw under the reservoir.
6. Put the cap back on.
7. Pull upwards on one end, and then pull upwards on the other end.
Do not splash your eyes, face, hands with the fluid when you pull the cup.

Thanks for the help. It's now off and a good time to clean the sludge out from under the float.
Now how about putting it back?!!
O rings on the reservoir first, and push in, or o rings in the master cylinder first, then push in the reservoir.?

Ummm... After every weekend? That's more than overkill. Once a year? Still overkill IMO. If you bleed brakes every 1 to 3 events, that should be plenty to flush out contaminents. If you have dirt after every race, perhaps you should look to see if maybe one of your o-rings (or other rubber part) is disentigrating slowly.

Yeah, I clean and bleed the brakes every race day. My o-rings are brand new. By dirt I meant like 2 or 3 black "liquid" looking particles.
