SCCA SFR is now allowing the Toyo RR and I would like to give them a test to compare to the Hoosiers. Any starting tips/pressure recommendations for Thunderhill, Sonoma or Laguna?

Take this with a grain of salt as I have no first hand knowledge other than what i hear and see in the paddock! lower pressures you'll have grip but longevity may be in question...basically same as hoosiers. At higher pressues, similar to RA1's. Decent grip and better wear...a little skatey(is that a word?)but can be as fast. Philstire service wrote something about this recently you should be able to find.

From Ron Cortez:
No break-in necessary. They are quickest when you first run them by 10ths of a second.
Then stay the same for 15-20 cycles. Heard as high as 25.Easy to drive on. Start with the same air pressure as you did the old RA1.30-32. Should go to 38-40.

From Ron Cortez:
I'm going to shoot for a little lower pressure, maybe 36. I liked 888's at lower pressures than RA1.
It doesn't have the R888 sidewall does it?

The tire is fast . Use a tire pyrometer to set pressures. Don't succumb to the low pressure theory!!

I'll ask the newbie question then: What do you shoot for with a pyrometer?
