For 2013 the NASA National Championships will be held at Miller Motorsports Part (MMP).  Come join in the fun.

 

Read the info on the Event Registration page (link below) to see if there is a discount code to use at checkout....  ie: use CHAMPS13-3-PU60BW28 before the end of June to receive $300 off

 

BONUS TESTING WITH NASA UTAH: There will be a NASA event at Miller 30 days before the Championships (Aug 9-11) running the Championships Configuration at Miller. (3.27 Mile Outer loop).  This event will feature with all regular sprint run groups as well as a 6 hour day-to-night WERC Endurance Race!   Lot's of great opportunity for some good seat time to prep for the Championships. In addition, NASA has arranged for you to leave your rig at MMP (for free) between the August event and the Championships if you register for both events. It is a beautiful facility with 24hr security.  You only tow once!

Agreed, but the same could be said about top West Coasters not going to Mid-O the past few yrs...  Which IMO is stupid, cuz THAT is one freaking awesome race track. 

 

From the list there are a few that would still place well regardless who attends.  Dudes like McKeever & Polsley are top 10 no matter who or where.

I am by far not a top name guy, and if one Ohioan makes that trip my bet is on him...  I will not be qualified to run and really have no interest, I have faced plenty of stiff competiton elsewhere this year.  I do love the NASA nationals format though...

My money's on McKeever if he can keep his motor together.  He drove from 28th to 2nd on track in 2010 after having lost a motor in an earlier race and running on a backup motor that was down a bit on power.  Of course the Oregon and Cali guys are always fast.  It should be an awesome event.

 

If there is anything I can do as the regional SM director to help you before or during the event, don't hesitate to PM me or drop me an email.   There's still one event Aug 9-11th (including up to a 6 hour enduro besides the normal sprint races) before Nats.  For the enduro they were talking about a format where you could choose to race 1.5/3/6 hours for those looking for extra track familiarization time.

I'm in the same boat with my race. I've asked them numerous times and finally fig out what day the CMC race was and Will said the schedule etc will be released in an email "soon". Very frustrating cause we can't buy plane tickets for family if we don't know what times all the other races are. Not sure why it's so last minute?

Historically the SM race is held on Saturday and PTE on Sunday...  This allows easy double-dipping and enough time for SM tech.    While I cannot 100% say for certain it will be this way this year I've made my plans based on this and feel really really really really comfortable about it.
