A standing start would be fun to try. Structure more events like the NASA Championship with multiple qualifying races leading to a final event. Reverse track direction (hard to do for safety reasons) and my favorite....
Let's hold a Spec Miata driver's challenge event where drivers show up and drive multiple rented cars (at least 3 varieties 2 of which have to be a 1.6 and a 1.8) and after a series of sessions and races we crown a champ based on a points system specific to this event. This could include NASCAR style 3 lap qualifying, short races, fast lap - all done in at least 3 cars for each driver.

We did that once with the Entropy Spec racers. Drawing straws for positions.

Id always love to try a standing start.
Interesting idea with the Spec Miata drivers challenge. Would enough people be able to run 3 cars each? Are you saying it would be the same 3 cars everyone is using or everyone would be reasonable to bring 3 cars?
