My guess is he didn't have the currency exchange rate and metric conversions figured out before he got there. Probably an innocent math mistake is all it is.
I would be interested to hear as well what they found.

2nd hand but I heard the car spent a lot of time on the scales after that qualifying session. Probably as simple as a little light, it happens.

While I don't know anything for "certain", The rumor is excessive camber after qualifying. Post race the engine was torn down. No idea the results of tear down or if there are any results yet

It was camber. We all have been checked before, and this wasn't a usual thing for Jr. It's easy to go too far with camber when you're trying to get it as close as possible to the limits.
Engine tear down results aren't known and had nothing to do with the qualifying DQ.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to come back on and clear it all up.
The camber was out of compliance after qualifying. We went out on track at 2.4 and came in at 3.7 degrees on the LF. Must have been the 'special grease'.
After they handed the penalty, we checked out the shock to find the reason it changed. We checked it in front of the officials and they saw and understood, but sadly they couldn't reverse the penalty. We found the bottom bolt hole on the shock that you move to adjust the camber was elongated due to 2 years of racing wear and tear . And maybe the crash at LRP also helped... We fixed the camber and went out in the race starting last and went up to 2nd. .
We already knew about the tear down going into Lime Rock. We just told them to do it after Toronto so we would have a motor. They tore us down to the bare block. It seemed they wanted to catch me cheating. They measured every gear in the tranny, checked the cam, all 4 pistons, deck height, etc.
After a couple days of waiting we just received an official apology and report that we are completely legal
I am now back in the points lead and looking for a win at Mid-Ohio.
