The SCCA head compliance tools are completed and available for purchase. Most of the engine builders pre ordered them or should have. I believe all of those that put in a pre-order have received the tools.

I would like to thank Jim Stewart of Stewart Racing Engines for building the tools for the class, he did this at his cost in order to keep the costs down for all of us. I will try and get a short video together in the next few days to show the tools and how they work. Jim did an excellent job

If you want to purchase a set of these tools, get in touch with Kimberly at SCCA enterprises

Mr. Drago, why does it not surprise me that the original style head tools continue to be listed under, Spec Miata Head Tool Drawings. :noidea:

And I would suspect that if there is no written released document by the SCCA CRB, the old style Spec Miata Head Tool Drawings are the official tools.

I don't think the SCCA tech staff has even had the tools for 2 days yet.  If you have questions about the drawing or website, call John Bauer @ SCCA office.  Just trying to inform people that the tools are in if they need/want them

And all I was doing was informing that untill the SCCA CRB releases a written document the old tools are the standard. If I had CRB/insider info I would not have posted my first post.

Whether that document is released or not, I feel fairly certain on which tools will be used :) We have CRB meeting tomorrow in KC, I will bring this to Johns attention and he will get it changed

Thanks

Jim Drago, Stewart Motors, thanks for taking care of this. One less variable to deal with in tech.

Mike Rossini wanted me to let his customers know that he received the new relief cut compliance tool, and checked it out on two of the engines he has in his shop about to go to customers and his relief cuts pass the tool test comfortably. So if any of you have a Rossini engine where Mike prepared the cylinder head, you will be within the spec and compliance as measured by the new tool.

I've heard those CraigList ads sometimes turn out that way. :rotfl:

But were getting way off topic.

Received my tools today.  Kudos to Jim and Jim for a VERY well thought out tool design in terms of ease of use, as well as accuracy of the check.  These are much better than the previous tools.  I just checked a couple of heads for my next two builds in progress and both measured compliant, so Ti-Speed customers can rest assured they're in good shape.

Why don't they allow it to be relocated like in the 94-97 You got to be a monkey to pull the 99 ecu.

Kinda slippery slope but...  Does anyone know of a manufacture who makes a cable to allow this?
