I am from the Houston, TX area and it is common on Fri and Sat nights to gather in some parking lots to bring out your cars and talk shop. I am talking about classic cars and such, not street racing. This is a good forum to meet people that share a common interest and get some good contacts.

I was wondering if anyone in this area does this for Miatas? I would love to meet others in the area and hear there thoughts in person instead of reading them on this forum. I am new to this entire thing, and it seems the local events are few and the the only information I have been getting is from the internet. Meeting somewhere (with or without cars) would be a good opportunity to swap stories, parts, ideas, etc.

Or if anyone wants to invite me to their garage to drink some frosty beverages while turning a wrench and spilling their guts, I would be interested. My mind is a sponge waiting to soak up tips and tricks to get this ball rolling.

I have build one car (a 1992) and working on a second (a 1996) all by myself. A garge of tools, build guide, and a vision is all I have been working on. Please help.

Any thoughts?

Just a thought, sign up for a DE and come out to the track. There are several clubs that hold track days. http://www.Texasworldspeedway.com/ has its own club and http://www.lsrpca.com/drivers_ed.htm had a very good program. There are others as well.

Here's a site with lots of Houston folks , lots of miata guys , and everything from racers , to HPDE'ers , to autocrossers. There are several groups that get together on a semi regular basis.

Of course there's no substitute for going to the track

Enjoy
