On my 02 NB there is a stock fuel pressure regulator in the tank and two pulse dampeners under the hood. Where do I install the AFPR? I am assuming that I install it post pulse dampener #1 under the hood close to the fuel rail.

Sub-question.....the 02 NB does not appear to have a Mass Air Flow sensor like the NAs......How does an 02 NB SM compensate for ambient temps. and barometric pressure? Does the stock ECU and monitoring system account for this and does the stock system do it correctly with adjusted lower fuel pressure and a restrictor plate? Does the A/F vary over the RPM curve, if so how much?.....can you tune A/F off exhaust temps. if you don't have a wideband O2 installed for A/F?......lots of questions to throw out there.....Thank you SM audience...any advice would be appreciated

I would think whoever you bought the FPR  from would give you suggestions on installation??

When you figure out all the answers to the rest of your questions and are able to tune the car within the rules to get optimium performance...post up all your results so the next guy doesn't need to spend a whole lot of time and money to figure this out. Lets just call it re-distribution :tipsy:

I dont know which regulator you have? What we do and what I feel is the best way to do this is to remove the regulator in the tank

Here is a link to what we do.

look at the pictures top left

Other questions...

There is an air intake temp sensor in the air cleaner box, cars also have a baro sensor.

I would not tune with exhaust temps without knowledge of what they should be etc. You are fare better off installing a wide ban.

Yes the a:f changes over the rpm curve, you can not get flat. Although the 01* curve is about the best in terms of flatness compared to all other versions of the cars.

To Ron's point....the car is SM stock...even have the timing at 10 degrees....just looking for a little extra to not get passed on the straights even when my exit speed is as good......

Drago, yes I have baseline on exhaust temps.....thermocouples were on the car when I bought it...and data acquisition inputs are full

Exhaust temp is NOT the way to tune the car properly. You can make wild swings in Fuel ratio with very little change in temp.
