Our second -- and final -- 2013 Tire Rack Street Survival (TRSS) event at PIR is Sunday, Sept 22nd. We are SOLD OUT -- and placing students on a waitlist. We are strictly constrained right now by number of available instructors.  Yes, we're holding it at the same time as the SCCA Runoffs, so we lost a few folks due to that. We truly are about 2 or 3 instructors shy of not having enough to do it right with the 32 students we've already got signed up. I know of at least two SM racers whom I spoke to over the weekend who have not yet signed up their teens, but plan on doing it.  If you instruct, I'll certainly pull your kid off the waitlist! We really need a few of you to step up ... and I guarantee you that you will find coaching teens in defensive driving skills immensely satisfying.   Plus, we pop for Subway sandwiches ... and when paired with Costco cookies and completed with a bottle of QFC tap water -- well, we know how to take care of folks is all I'm saying ;-)

Oregon Region has a stand-out TRSS program: this past spring, we had National Tire Rack Program Manager Bill Wade and guest instructor Ross Bentley on board to share best practices.  This will be Oregon Region's 10th TRSS event. While we plan on 2 more Portland events in 2014, with Tim Ferrick, Jon Davies,  and the Hood River Gang of current and former SM racers, we hope to hold a first TRSS event in the Hood the summer of 2014.

If you can help, please send me an e-mail to streetsurvivalpdx at hotmail dot com. If I haven't raced or instructed with you, please send me a topline on what and where you've raced or instructed.  Some of our best instructors have been autoXers and HPDE instructors ... so, you don't need to be a road racer to instruct, nor do you need to be a member of SCCA.  Thanks!
