Jim (head cheese on SCCA SM rules, site supporter, close friend and SM freak) is sitting on the sideline longing for the old site. Like me, he is feeling the pressure of lots of eye candy here and new things to learn.

Show him the love, find him in the member section and make him your friend. Lets make Jim the most popular guy here with lots of PMs to keep him busy and force him to learn the new buttons.

Side note: Yes Craig, the old site is down..... hehehehe

I've said this too many times already but if you make it like the old and add the new features it would be like adding a new room to the house, not like tearing it down and building new.
And now you need a map.

+1, (upper right) In a nutshell.
And that covers any subject, Forum, Members, Blog, Classifieds, etc.
Just click on the tab you want on the subject bar after you hit "view new content"

I know, why didn't you tell me that in the 1st place.

One trick I use is putting some of my login/passwork info in my e-mail contacts.
It really helps if you've been on vacation for a while.

It depends on what you mean by that.

It does....but, its limited to the selections across the menu at the top (forum, members, blogs, etc). So, if you are in "blogs" and click "view new content" it will show you new blog entries (etc). Also, the "view new content" has tabs across the top (in the same order as the menu) that will allow you to quickly view ALL new content in each category.

Finally, clicking on the little icon will take you directly to the new content in a particular topic.

There is also an option under your profile settings to select "new since last visit" or "all content I have not read". It defaults to the former...but, As a mod, I prefer the latter.

Profile| Edit My Profile|Settings|General Settings|Search Settings|View new Content Method:
Options:
1. Show me all content since my last visit
2. Show me all content I have not read

then click "save changes" at the bottom.

Also in "View New Content" if you move your mouse to the left of the Forum subject or on it, in this case "Pit Lane" You can "View Topic Preview" 1st post, unread post and last post.
Look for the box with the green arrow to show up

Oh, make sure your drivers and plugins are up to date, a few more programs other then the site needs that too....

This isn't difficult, just start pressing all the new buttons to see what they do. Sooner or later we'll figure it out. Trial and error, just like setting up a race car.
