The first SoCal NASA event is rapidly approaching, we'd love to see ya.

Weekend-Racer.com is still trying to secure some garage spaces for the SM/SSMs teams register prior to Feb 18th... No promises on a space yet, but why not register now if you know or think you're gonna attend.

REGISTER HERE: March 4- 6, 2011 - California Speedway, CA

I've requested that if we have to share our run-group that we be paired with the 944's to allow for PTE Supersize, keep an eye out for that (or subscribe to this topic).

Hope to see ya there.

Two things I just thought of...

1. You will probably need to get an annual tech... I suggest getting there on Friday (4th is a test day) with your log-book to get it done before the rush Saturday morning. Please do a pre-tech so you pass the first time, Here is a link to the Annual Tech Form

In case you want to know, here is the check-list the inspector will be following: Annual_race_inspector.pdf

2. If you will be racing in SM with a 99 you will need a 37mm Restrictor Plate. NASA is selling them HERE

My kid got his provisional license at Sears Point last weekend, car is very close to done. You will have another SSM to race although I don't expect him to be anywhere near the front. Their will be another 17 year old too deal with along with Tyler Vance!

Here is the Event schedule

Please notice a few things.

  • A 15 min Qual and 40 min Race as is preferred
  • SM and PT groups apart so you can take advantage of $89 Supersize for DOUBLE the track time (Where can you get 5 hrs of track time for $1.63 per minute?)
  • There are only 6 944's entered so you have your own group essentially. I will instruct the 944 group leader to grid as a group each time so you will have minimal non class traffic.

BONUS OFFER - Help recruit just another 3 drivers to make it 20 total class cars and SoCal NASA will post a $500 prize purse for the Sat race!

1st- $200
2nd- $100
3rd- $100
10th- $100

Get the the word out !!!
