With the sound off and except for a few frames this could be retitled; 'This is the AARP'

That's the whole point. All of us old guys, who have been doing this for many years (40 in my case) are still doing it. How much passion does that take? How many young people, who start something in their 20s are still doing it at a Runoffs level when they are pushing 70. It's all about passion.

Such cynics. I was racing when I made $1.85/hour and when I made $1,000/hour and now I'm racing on my SS check. It isn't about $$, it is about loving racing. Passion.

One day my son saw an race entrie sheet laying on the kitche table. He read it and asked who the SIF sponsor was. And I said that would be, Sons Inheritance Fund.

Great video - Claudio Giovenzana, the videographer has a great eye for cinematic composition. These days, with simple inexpensive rail movements and full frame DSLR sensors with their shallow depth of field, the production values go WAY up. This is the democratization of movie production at its best. Kudos Claudio - great video!
Continuing on the Age hijack ......about 13 years ago a few friends and I started on the launch of a dirt bike tour company, African Offroad Tours taking American riders to South Africa on dirt bike safaris. We created the business around people just like ourselves, Thirty Something's with some money and a love for off-road riding, appealing to those that wanted to see Africa.
Boy did we miss the demographic completely. Apart from a few exceptions the average age of our customers was 50+. They had the money AND THE TIME. The Thirty Somethings might have had the money but did not have the time to get away from work or family obligations. Was a real eye opener for us.
As to the business, our first tour group was to depart Philadelphia on the evening of Sept 11, 2011............ and we know what happened to all flights that day and through the next week. We never fully recovered from the financial loss, although we soldiered on for several more years hoping that American's love of travel would overcome their fears, but our timing couldn't have been worse!!!

I sold all of my PL mount Zeiss Super Speed Cine lenses and the Angenieux zooms. They are all being used on little digital cameras that are smaller than the lenses. They do take some very nice looking video, although not as nice as 35 film.

Danny's got it right. Money and Time. Which is why I bemoan 3 day weekends relentlessly and why I don't care to about a week long event like runoffs.

I think a big part of it is money. Racing is not cheap, and us younger guys have a hard time keeping up with the costs...
