OH NO! This is bad. very bad!
But seriously, Welcome aboard!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I have done all of my "to do's" for today. Hopefully I will get all of my car prep done this weekend. Car goes to piper next week to get the new FIA seat installed. I have even requested a permanent number for the season (I truly hope I didn't steal anybody's... it was available...).
I talked to my wife last night. I think I may stop instructing and only race starting this or next season. In a season of instructing, I typically go through 3x the equipment I would go through if I raced (more track time = more pads, tires, fuel, oil, etc...). This way, all of the money I had spent in the past on fresh stuff, I can spend on entry fees... not to mention, I will be around a little more. Last season I was at the track sometimes more than 3 days a week! This season, I think I will end up doing less than half of the events I have done in past seasons. Mainly because I have already spent my racing budget, and the season has not even started yet.

Ignore the sign over the track gate that says "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate"
Hahaha! Maybe I'll name my car Beatrice!

Are you going to be in SM or SSM?

Rob is very lucky he gets to be my friend. Only the cool kids are my friends. Dave, if you want in on some coolness, you gotta hang out with us cool kids.
Unfortunately I would still be running 10 degress of timing if it wasn't for Rob. So really, don't trust anything that comes out of mouth. I'm just a poster boy.

I will actually be running ITA in the school. My car is a little more modified than an SM at the moment. No worries though, even if I were in SM/SSM, i'd be in the front of the back of the pack with my 1:31 times!

Not bad considering I have never aligned the car in the 3 years I have had it built (I think I have 4 wheel toe out at the moment, slightly in the front and a whole lot more in the back) haha!
I'll be parked by the King Rat folks, black car, silver top, #63. Come by and say hi. I just bottled some beer (a stout and it is about 5%) I hope to have some left by the school to hand out as thank-you's.

What!?!?! You don't Keg? If I were still bottling, I'd have given up making beer years ago. Besides, I guess it would be a little harder to give away KEGS of beer. But, we'd be better friends! Okay...maybe a little OT.

Just like wheel to wheel racing, I am a rookie brewer. This was my first batch. I got the kit from the wife for Christmas... baby steps... keg fridge is next!

You are going to have a blast. I did the school last year and ended up doing 9 events, never had so much fun in my life. Look forward to seeing you out there.

There is something to be said for the commitment it takes to drink all those bomber bottles so that you have something to put the beer in. It's hard work but someone has to do it.

Unfortunately I would still be running 10 degress of timing and have no understanding of my own mortality if it wasn't for Rob.

Couldn't have said it better.
Dave I hope your paying attention. You will have no fear of death and you will be able to walk on water after racing with the WDCR.
Save some beer for me.
