Paul,

You forgot to mention Watkins in April and Thompson in Aug. are HPDE only! It seems the only real change from last year's season is ditching Pocono and adding Thompson.

The email I got just listed dates but didn't mention those exceptions. Thanks for clearing that up.

The Lime Rock race is new! It used to be HPDE only. I'm surprised they are getting away with unmuffled, especially if its a double.

A few years back we used to have a race at LRP with NASA.  They lost the date.

Traditionally July 4th (along with Memorial Day) was a pro race weekend.  No more (sadly, I loved spectating those races).  that's how unmuffled dates popped up....LRP already has them as "allowed", so they want to sell the dates.

The only tough thing about July 4th is there is a SCCA majors up at WGI that same weekend.  For some of us LRP may be a better option, especially since with NASA you can attend one day only.  That works out for me since I'll have family obligations, but I can always sneak away for just one day at my favorite track.

Helps that Alexis loves Limerock, and so do her inlaws and cousins.

Marcus....rematch at Thunderbolt?  Maybe this time Tony won't get taken out?

Paul....beauty contest for best designed livery?  I know you'll be faster than me but maybe I have a few tricks left.

Doubt I'll be faster than you based on the fact that I haven't beaten you yet. I'm not subscribing to the notion that the '99 is going to make me an instant hero. If cars won races than beating Mr Senese would be child's play :)

Didn't you beat me in a SCCA qually race at WGI?  I thought you drafted past me up the hill on the last lap.  I forget.  You got real fast at WGI after following some of us around during that Joey G day.

And rumor has it Tony may be putting a new motor in that car.  Truth is he's a tenacious racer.  Watch the video.....he doesn't even blink!

NASA NE should have a good SM count this year.  The EFI guys will have two or three cars.  DH will be racing a miata, and his son Wayne will probably try for his comp license.  I'll make the races that aren't too close to SCCA races, and hopefully we get some SCCA crossover.

i'm hopeful for the LRP weekend July 4th.  Often racers can't get away because of family obligations, especially on holiday weekends.  This year July 4th is the Friday.....so in theory if the races are later in the day on Saturday (say practice just before lunch, qual and race after) a lot of people in the NY metro and Boston metro area who are about a three hour tow could make it for the one day race.  No "Limerock hotel tax", still spend July 4th with the family.......would be great.

Oh yeah that's right, I got the 3rd spot in the qual race. So that's one. Just for reference I was 2 seconds slower at WGI in the '99 than the 1.6. Go figure.

I'm getting excited about next season in NASA NE with the increased car counts. Not sure if I can make LRP on the 4th but we'll see.

I do like that schedule, but why have HPDE only events?  Who would say no to racing at Watkins Glen?  Seems like lost opportunity.

I would not cross out (but I know what's up there) Pocono either, especially that all the tracks besides LRP repeat.

I'm pretty sure the DE only events are weekday events.

They are, they are, but that's what I'm saying, they have enough people and momentum to run a schedule like that on weekends with races, and give up weekday DEs for smaller clubs.  DEs are everywhere, it's the races we like :)

I agree. A second weekend at WGI in the spring would be great. I think it would draw a decent amount of racers. As for Pocono, we had a pretty poot turnout last year. I can see why they nixed it. I'm glad the car count for SM is increasing for next year. I plan on doing the full schedule, so I'm ready for the rematch anytime. I'll probably start the season in my 1.6, and hope the '99 gets done before the end of the season. The build is moving a little slower than planned, but with my ChumpCar plans falling through for next year, I'll still have the 1.6 I can run.
