So my seat just expired for this year (2008-2013), and I have been doing research to see if I can still use it if I install a back brace. The gcr says Seats with FIA 8862-1999 and 8862-2009 dont need to have a back brace installed but I still cant figure out if the brace would allow me to contiune using the seat. Would be nice to contiune using it, just trying to figure out if im going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new seat. Im going to shoot my regional tech person an email to see what he says but some quick instight would be helpfull thanks.

There was a huge discussion about this a few years ago, but you most definitely don't want to drill into a composite seat.

I thought SCCA got rid of the dating rule for FIA seats, but NASA kept it? SCCA makes no mention of the dates with seats anymore in the rule book, where I think they used to.
