Does anyone have idea what this noise could be? When my son gets off the track from doing a session the rear of the car makes a squealing noise and when he stops for a second the noise goes away. The noise seems to happen when the car is hot. I have new rotors, pads, calipers and took off the drive shaft dampener. It seems this noise started when I took of the dampener. Here is a quick recording of the sound

Couldn't hear it. But from what you said I would surmise that it would be the pinion bearing , or you changed the preload on the pinion to ring gear when you removed the damper. How did you get the damper off ?

If the sound truley stops after the car wheels have quit rotating, that leaves out all rotational sound from the 4 wheels and everything after and including the drive shaft out of the sound picture. Clutch, crankshaft bearing for transmission pilot shaft, throwout bearing???

Thanks ..... I was starting to think that as well. I also was thinking maybe the dusk shield that is in front of the pinion bearing or speedo cable? when to car cools down for a split sec the noise goes away. I have drive it up and down the pits and no noise after the car stop for a few secounds , its heat realated . Its driving me nuts

more I listen to it I think left rear caliper is sticking, because be he taps the breaks at a slow speed and cool down a litlle the noise goes away. Im going to replace the left rear caliper and see.....

Have you had it running on jack stands ?
You can kind of listen and poke around.
Be careful.
