Anyone done this before?

Fitment issues?

I know it's tight in the older cars, just wondering if it fits inside the window of the NC.

Thanks in advance.

Ask Mike Novak He tried

I spent significant time putting a seat in to my 01 build. I am 5'11' 190lbs in my 99 i have a Sparco Circuit Pro which is the older version of the larger sparco now called the Circuit 2.

after looking at seats the dimensions and looking at the room i had to work with, I decided on the MoMo Lesmo. in the large size, then I called to order it, and no larges to be had, I then asked for the Momo daytona in large, no sale, no large seats. If your a fat ass like me your options are limited.

I ended up with the Sparco Circuit 2

I sat in the Pro ADV that was in an older SM, it was extremely comfortable but that seat has wide shoulder bolsters, 24" across. one of the largest. The Sparco was about 23 inches. I can tell you i had to do some cage modifications to get my seat in and the Brackets that I got from drago allow you to bolt the seat in with the brackets loose then you can slide the seat side to side to then tighten the brackets from the bottom side once its all installed topside. I also had the floor pan - tunnel pan installed to give me more room at the base of the seat.

So I have to put the seat in loose, put the top on, then tighten the bolts on the side of the seat and then tighten the bolts under the car to fix the brackets.

My point, i think anything is doable if your willing to spend the time to figure it out.

I do have a comfortable ride.

Novak told me he could not get the ADV in his car so i did not try. but his cage was different than mine and likely different than yours. get the measurements and size it up.

Email Ben at Elgin Racing http://elginracing.com  I am pretty sure they have a Pro ADV in one of their NCs.

Frank, sorry to hear we didn't have the seat you wanted in stock. At 5'11" 190 you would fit in a regular Daytona Safari or Daytona Evo. The shell on the Lesmo XL is within the specs of the regular size seats above.
The Daytona Safari XL and Daytona Evo XL usually are used by 200+ or guys with wide upper bodies. We have had customers install even our largest halo seats in NA and NBs. NCs generally have a little more room.
Let me know if I can ever be of help and thank you for your patronage.

Point of clarification----  It was a NB not NC. I would guess installing in a NC would not be a problem---short of a cage bar somehow in the way...  Mount seat AND then give car to cage builder---Everyone (including me) always does it the wrong way.

Having had both the Daytona and the Lesmo seat, the Lesmo runs just a little tighter in the waste arear.  The Daytona fit me fine at 5'11 180 pounds.  I'm now closer to 170 lbs and think the Lesmo is the better fit.

Thanks all for the help. Was 95 percent certain it wasn't a problem. But I know it's a wider seat and would rather not find out after it gets here.

You are doing it wrong...install the seat FIRST...then build the cage around you AND the seat so all the safety features of a good cage are in the right place...from the 6'4", 250 lbs guy....who has really great seats with lots of room in NA, NB and NC miatas...

Car/Cage already built that conversation is moot sadly.  Cage is setup to give lots of room.  I was more concerned on the top half where the shoulders and halo are.  All the pics I've seen of the Pro Adv are in MX5 cup car with no roof and no window up.  This car has glass that removes so I want to be able to keep that as it's not going to races enclosed.

For what its worth, I have the Sparco Ergo L in my NC.  Its very tight, but its also 520mm wide and 1020mm tall.  I think the Pro ADV is 4" smaller in both directions.
