Dear Mr. Hutt,
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!. I know you said not to, but I have tried to locate Chris Klein on the Interweb to get in touch with him to submit my racing resume to be considered for the 2nd driver position and have not had any luck finding him online. I have searched 4 separate times and still no luck, so I have a call into Al Gore since he invented the internet to help me in my search, but have not heard back from him just yet. He travels a lot.
I too have spent many years in the banking industry and have handled millions of dollars in last 10 years. I have been a bank teller at the Chase bank inside the Walmart in Olympia, WA and have been awarded the teller of the month award on numerous occasions. Sounds crazy I know, but if you don’t believe me, just ask my Supervisor Sally Johnson at the branch. Also, since I am in Olympia, my house is only 4 miles from the Ridge Motorsports Park so I could be there any time to help with testing or even just keep an eye on the trailers for the team. Why Olympia you might ask? Well, it is the capitol of the state of WA and I had a feeling that an opportunity like this might come around at some point. It is a little known fact that the Olympia area produces more professional race car drivers than anywhere else in the world. Even more so than Mexico or Brazil. If you don’t believe me you can ask the Governor of the State of Washington Jan Brewer and she will back up my statement.
Since I can’t seem to locate Chris I will just submit my racing resume to you here online to you and for all to see. Who knows, maybe another opportunity may come from this. Just out of curiosity does Chris race under an assumed name? I know this is common for a driver of his caliber. I wanted to see if maybe Chris and I had crossed paths at an autocross or Chump car race or something. Who knows I may have even beat him!
I am 59 years old and have been racing for the past 17 years. My career in the financial industry affords me a great living and allows me to attend 3 or 4 auto crosses per year. Maybe 5 if we count the ones I don’t tell my wife about. Below are some of my biggest racing accomplishments.
- 2004 Mazda Rev-it-up Tour - Fastest time in the Orange group in the 10:00 to 10:15am timeslot.
- 2009 Playstation 1 Need for Speed neighborhood champion. Ask Timmy
- 2011 NASA DE Day at SIR - My instructor Jack Mayhoffer told me I was the best student in a Chump car he had all day.
- 2012 - Pace Car Driver for the RC track by my house.
- 2013 - Current - President of the Olympia chapter of the Miata Club
To help subsidize my racing I have started re-selling some really cool vitamins and supplements and have been granted an Amway business franchise for the Western half of Olympia covering zip codes 97345, 97346 and 97347. I will give anyone who needs it a substantial break of 13.2% but not my complete margin of 15% on any racer related orders. William Stevenson at Amway said it was ok to do this. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s really not. I have also acquired sponsorship from John Coktostin at Olympia Credit Union who will be providing some sponsor dollars as well as unlimited life coaching for the team.
I have not held a road racing license, but am now working with the newly appointed Lisa Noble at SCCA and will be flying back to Topeka to pick up the laminated hard card personally.
Please consider my resume for this outstanding opportunity with your organization.
WORKING WITH YOU AND CHRIS WOULD BE TOTALLY AWESOME! This e-mail took me a lot longer than I thought it would.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
