I thought all of you would be interested in an update on Chris' and my MX-5 Cup Team..

  1. Chris continues to be preoccupied with personal and his job responsibilities during his leave of absence from his job.  As a result, I am going on my own in making the business, strategic and investment decision which are covered below:
  2. We will have at least one car in the CUP.
  3. If the logistics work out, we will enter one of two car in the second to last race in the 2014 series, which is as follows:

August 8-10 *Road America / Test Day August 7/Elkhart Lake, WI

October 1-3*Petit Le Mans / Test Day Sept 30/Road Atlanta- Braselton, GA

*Double-race events

  1. The team will be based in Topeka, KS for the following reasons A.) I have investors in Topeka, that can easily fund the cost of the 2nd car, B) Trackside support can come from Topeka volunteers, C) We have excess in our budget to fly a driver from Topeka to all of the races. D) Prather Racing is located in Topeka  www.pratherracing.com E)having a driver from the Topeka or KC area will help draw investors/sponsors from Topeka & KC and F) I have more than enough contacts in Topeka alone to fund a second team and G) We do not need any sponsors to fund our costs, including replacement of 2 cars.
  2. If anyone from the Kansas or Missouri or other regions read about this or any where else. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME.  We will have an announcement on the 28th of April, after Chris and I meet with Tom Campbell, President of SCCA Pro Racing.  (I have been in contact with Tom over the last three weeks.  He lives in NY and is flying into KC to meet with us at the SCCA headquarters.)
  3. I have access to the President and CEO of a public company that has sufficient cash to buy Mazda at any time it would want. Thus I have an entrée to numerous corporations across the US.
  4. So why am I doing this?  There are 2 reasons:
  1. I started a business as a reseller of high-performance parts.  Best products for Miatas to Maserati’s.   I do not need additional income.  However, it would make more than what is need to cover my wife’s and my health insurance premiums when my wife retires, which she wants to do 3 years from now.
  2. My wife’s health is beginning to fail.  In the business, I am in there is not sufficient income to replace her salary and benefits.  Thus making an $100,000 investment for a one car team, will stimulate more sales and profits.  I am hopeful that she will be able to retire by August.  This will be from selling a portion of my interest in the company to investors.  I am attending a meeting of fraternity brothers in Topeka on the 27th of April.  Out of 50 of them, I would only need one to write a check to provide the cash I need to make this happen.

Mr. Hutt,

While I may not be at the same level as Chris or Ronnie, I am currently running third in the Mx-5 Cup.  My Dad has suggested you send us the $100k and we'll put what ever you want on the car, he doesn't think you should wait until the end of the season to get this thing going!

Oh, thank God.  Since I had not heard anything for a week, I was beginning to worry.

Should I re-submit my resume to you then instead of Chris?

My vitamin supplement business has taken off and I would consider a relocation to Topeka for this opportunity.  I know it sounds crazy, but it's really not.  I have just gotten a verbitment for 100's of sales orders for my vitamin business and have convinced my wife to relocate to Topeka if we can make this deal happen with your team.  My pet turtle Ralph is in failing health so the time is right for a move to Topeka.  PLEASE DON'T CONTACT HIM, but if you don't believe me ask Bengie Bronk at the Olympia headquarters for Aflac where those hundred of orders will be coming from.

I believe that I too could help stimulate more sales and profits for you with my fraternity brothers from back in the day when I was a pledge in Boy Scout Troop # 715 in South Tacoma, WA.  Many of them are still active in the community and have great relationships with many key influential decision makers in the Tacoma business community.

I don't really need any money to go pro racing, but it would sure help the financial situation.  One of my fellow workers has enough money to finance a new MX5 anytime he wants from Harmier Mazda, so I guess if this does not work out then he and I can build our own team.

If ANYONE reads this anywhere in the world, please do not try to steal my ride with this outstanding organization.

Mr Hutt, please advise as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Ronald Mund

Why???   This is a failure on my part, admitting I read this bat-shit crazy crap. But then I have been retired since year 2000 and many times I need silly stuff to read. It's kind of like reading comics when I was a little boy.

To answer a couple of questions:

  1. Chris is the one that will make the decisions on the 2nd driver.  However, he and his family are dealing with issues that creates our communication with one another on a sporadic basis.  Thus, please do not try to contact Chris.  I am sure that when the time is right he will be back on the forum.
  2. The name of the team is TOP One Racing.  TOP is the acronym for Topeka, Olympia, where I am located, and Portland.
  3. Mike Big Cheese Meatball, I might make an exception for you and override Chris.  You are hired.  Looking forward to getting that $75,000 check as investment in the second team.  :burst:

Pablo

PS:  Mazda is making a major change in the 2015 schedule.  It is confidential and not a lot of people in the SCCA are aware of it.

Hey paul, I qualified ahead of young Mr. Landy at laguna seca( and then crashed, but I'm sure if it was inyour car I would.have won!) I'm 43 and a mediocre driver at best BUT I am a sponsors dream, and am available to commute to Topeka!

Fyi, I'd try F1 but I don't really care for Monte Carlo, Brazil or France.

Let's just go race IMSA instead - one car, two drivers. I'll let Chris qualify.

PS am I allowed to talk to him on Facebook since we're already friends?

Msr. Hutt,

My name is Renaldo and I wish to be a driver for you car.  Every person in Brasil is heard of this Chris Klein as he is a good actor in some favorite films.

I am many time champion as my mother is Brasilian and every man here driven so fast.  But not the girls.

I can make you famous and more richer than you already and there are always more girls that come with me.  Some of them are pretty I promise.

Sure.  But Chris will not be on Facebook for a while.  You ought to put a link on your Facebook page to the
SCCA Pro Racing web site.  That will impress at least 1 person!

Mr Hutt,

I am close friend with Mr. Sal Governale who, as you may know, is a very successful stock broker. Your investment plan is exactly the type of opportunity that Sal has been looking for. This is a real business connection. Please do not hesitate to call Mr. Governale at (800) 447-8376.

Paul,

Why $75,000?  I already own 2 cup cars, I own numerous tow rigs, have a large shop and readily available crew with experience....  What are you going to offer me to keep your operation from failing in the first year?  I choose to campaign my cup cars in SM5 and T4 as the economics of SCCA Pro don't add up....but if you have a marketing partner that sees value, let me know.

I already know the players in Topeka (well) and I have a serious relationship with Mazda.

Good Luck....

I don't think putting a link to SCCA Pro on FB will help....but I did write it on my chalkboard and both my dogs were impressed.

Todd Buras and I are both MX-5 Cup veterans...I have 8 wins and a championship in the series. We would both like to drive - we have a patent pending on a very unique driving system, whereby we share the driving duties so one can update social media while the other is either steering or working the pedals.

Kyle, I really appreciate your support.  Tom Campbell and I exchanged emails this am.  I told him him about the information I had provided and why.  The reasons are that 1) Chris is highly respected in this community, I had referred to Chris a number of times and felt it was time to get the doubters, boo birds and posers off my back.

Thanks again.

Paul
