Really thrilled to see good friend and Spec Miata driver Brian Price win an incredibly hard fought battle in the season opener at Barber. Was there coaching OPM Spec Miata driver Paul Holbrook, and helping out with Shea Holbrook who had an impressive win in TCA. Paul also had an impressive run to finish 6th with three cars going over the line seperated by 4/1000ths after a stunning pass by team mate  PJ Groenke channeling Todd Lamb's pass of me in in the last turn on the last lap, several years back.

 

Barber was an amazing venue for the GT and TC classes with some amazing racing up front. TCB is going to be a great class this year and while they are not the main show, they do get tremendous publicity and exposure, and I expect to see many more TCB cars by the end of the season. This has the potential to be a big competitive class, maybe not as big as Spec Miata, but I predict big things for this class, and I was NOT a fan of this before, but after watching this race this weekend, yup, its got legs

Congrats to Price - that looked like an exciting race on RM to the very end!  Equally exciting was the Sunday race with Nic holding off Lawson lap after lap under serious pressure in GTS for second.

Great racing by Price and Sani did well untill??? And then a little oop's.

 

Every time Lazzaro's name shows up it takes me back to 1992 with a smile on my face. After the races at a WKA Kart racing at Badger Raceway in Dousman, WI we were end of day tipping a few from a half barrel. Anthony and a buddy showed up looking for a cool one. No problem Anthony, but first a shot of Ned Kelly Australlan Outlaw whisky was required. It was some horrible stuff, about like to eat the skin off the inside of your throat. They tipped a shot, had a couple beers and headed out for someplace in the southeast for Sunday Karting.
