:dope:

Ok, I inadvertently bought an automatic engine to put in the SM. Lower compression, detuned HP, etc... So, now I know for the future... don't do that.

What I need to know is what I need to do to run it in my car while my RE is being rebuilt. I know the TPS connector is different. I have capped the vacuum port on the back of the intake. Will the engine run with my ECU? Do I need to swap out the injectors? Can I tune it the same as a manual engine with the FPR and an A/F meter?

Anything else I need to consider before I button her up?

Thanks in advance.

Signed -

Another lesson learned the hard way :dope:

Change the entire throttle body not just the TPS. The throttle shafts are different and the sensors are NOT interchangable.

Other than that, it should run just fine.

It will run just fine if you are chasing old ladies in scooters around the assisted living parking lot ;)

Its going to feel like a turd.

Thanks Dave

Mike - Well, then I can blame my performance issues on something other than my driving skills. I am certainly not excited about it.

They make GREAT donor engines for builds.  Don't trash it when you pull it out!

Oh, I won't. It's only got 36k miles on it and it is as clean as a new one.

What I meant was it will run without any issues, not that it would perform as well as a race engine.
