another question...

I am painting the cage this week and I was wondering if there was consensus on what paint to use? Any good spray can paint out there?

I don't have a paint gun anymore so unless cans are completely out of the question I don't want to buy another.

What color? Machine grey I would use regular old rust oleum rattle cans on cage and a brush on floors. If wanting silver or black the rust ilium hammered finish looks nice

Color is interesting question. I was thinking white. Is that a bad choice (sun glare)?

Definitely a fan of black roll cage bars - they disappear when viewed by the in car camera. White roll bars create hotspots that reflect light that can affect the camera's automatic exposure control. And they nicely complement the application of carbon fiber tape over the high wear places to limit scratches.

My opinion:

White looks nicer when clean, but gets dingy after a year or so. Machinery gray is not as pretty, but holds up better. Black makes the car too dark

I use rust-o-leum paint. What ever brand you use, make sure the brush on and spray on are the same brand. Start with a brush, while the paint is still tacky, over coat with the spray. Do small areas at a time. Start in the middle of the car and work outward. Paint dries real fast in the sunshine, this can be a positive or a negative depending upon how fast you work. It takes a LOT longer than you would think to do a nice job.

By the way, this is also in my book.

Just Finished doing this and Dave's method above works great! I am surprised every time I see the brush marks disappear when you use the rattle can.....
