I'll just throw this out there. Who is going?
Me and 14 other drivers from Texas are registered. With 39 registered so far Texas represents 38% of the entrants. And it looks like me and you along with two other brave soles are bringing a 1.6 (Knife) to the (gun) fight.
West coast and it's early but looks like I'm going to get a podium,

Hi, I'm looking for transportation from Boston to RA for the Championships. Anyone that has space or wants to share a ride? If you are anywhere between NH and NJ then we could make it work.
I can get transportation on the way back if need be (from RA back north), so at a minimum I need a one-way to RA. Or round-trip if it's more convenient.
Plesae email me directly as I might miss a reply here. yiannistsiounis at gmail dot com
Thx!

Gale,
That is great representation. I might have to come and watch. Atlanta is not the worst place to visit.
When is this race?

I'll be there but not to race.
I'll be starting another post in about a week to post information about the event on a frequent basis. But a quick heads-up for those that expect to run up front, please locate and bring to the event the necessary tools to remove valves from heads. Just a heads-up.
We need a couple more fore PTE. If anyone is interested in super sizing and needs a hand classing a SM or any other car into PTE please let me know. I'd really like to get 10 starters for the Sunday championship race so we get full HooHoo and Mazda contingencies.

Hey John
here's to hoping that I do well enough to make it to the tech shed. I would personally love to see the engines of top 3-5 cars pulled down to the innards and everything checked with a microscope, mine included. And not just the head, the entire engine and full drivetrain please.

That would be nice, but I bet it doesn't happen. NASA doesn't seem to take tech seriously, even at the championship events.

Well we'll start on the top three and see what comes from what we have planned while P4 & P5 sit in impound. P6 might not want to hit the road until results are final.

Duncan, who are you? Full name and disclosure of how many NASA Championships and the year you've race SM at please.

Your in trouble now Duncan( your security clearance won't help you here!)
For the record...I dont think there was any tear downs last year in Utah but a lot of dyno pulls! We do know NASA checks shocks
As excited as I saw John get at Laguna last month when someone ran Hoosiers from the back (he was not happy about it and didn't want it)I think he and others will do there best to keep things on the up and up!
Correct, no motor tear-downs in 2013 in Utah. All those dyno pulls (almost 20 cars over the event) and eyeball test said everyone was really really really really really close so we thought it best not to. I agonized over it with the Tech Crew over and over, I made the call not to tear-down. Overall I was okay with what we did last year... It was my first year not relying on the SM super guru Mr. Collins. There is no doubt I made some errors but I also know I learned a bunch for this year to be better.
Laguna was great except for some suspect race officiating from a pair of indecisive and poorly informed NorCal race directors. Oh and the said "fun-run on HoHos" in the middle of a SM race... That's what PT and TT are for, don't muck about in my 'effing Spec Miata race !!! Anyways, thanks for your confidence, we'll see if I earn it.
Does anyone know if there is going to be any live streaming of video???
