This will be my last post.

 

Yesterday my son Nova died in a motorcycle accident. I wanted to thank you all for helping me change him from a boy to man before he left me. I will be forever grateful. Those that know me know that I thought he was the greatest driver ever. And he was to me. I just loved watching him drive with you guys.

Watching the two of you progress with your program together was something special. Racing against Nova was always a good time knowing he was a tough yet a fair fight. He had a great attitude in the pits and really wanted to be there. Extremely sorry for your loss James, I was shocked when I heard last night. So sorry for your loss.  I can't imagine what you are going through.  As the son in a father son racing tandem, I appreciate the special bond and the support you fathers give your children.  The Ross' will pray for Nova and your family that you may cherish the memories of the most precious possession of any human.

James, I am so very sorry to hear this news.  Please accept my condolences.

 

I had the privilege of meeting Nova and racing against him (actually, I watched him from the back of the pack).  He was always a courteous,  friendly, humble, and down-to-earth young man.  You were a great father to him, too.

 

I enjoyed seeing father and son work together to field a competitive team on a shoestring budget.  You guys were a class act all the way.

Walking through the Laguna paddock I finally found the Brown camp. Came looking for James but was greeted by Nova. Dad was MIA, but Nova(who had only met me 1 time I think)and i started up a conversation. I asked him how the car felt and if he was feeling good about his approach to the track. This started a 10 minute chat...his thoughts, my feedback...back and forth. He listened intently to what i could offer and I could see the gratitude and sincerity in his eyes. He shook my hand and thanked me. I wished him luck in the next race. This memory will never be lost.

 

Thank you Nova for making an old guy feel important! Walk with your parents and friends as we continue on this journey called life. Godspeed

Our hearts are breaking since we heard yesterday.  Have been admiring Nova since last year as we were learning the ropes at the race track.  You and Nova helped us a lot in the process.   We plan on honoring Nova at the next TMC race at Buttonwillow.  We will be always thinking of you and your family.  As Matt put it, "Race In Paradise Nova".  Please reach out to us for anything.
