The Jersey Racing Board will be conducting TWO NJRRS championship series races at New Jersey Motorsports Park. This event is the Jersey Road Racing Classic (JRRC) regional races on the Thunderbolt course on 17-19 October.
The weekend starts off on Friday with 'The Prelude', a separately sanctioned, one day regional on the Thunderbolt professional course using the Turn 3 chicane. Each group will have a practice session, qualifying session and a 12 lap race. This will be only the time this year NJRRS races using the Thunderbolt chicane.
It continues on Saturday / Sunday with 'The Jerk' regional using the standard course (no chicane) and the popular three race format . Each group will have a qualifying session and three races of 8, 10 and 12 laps. Lots of track time, plenty of racing. Two days, three races - Race, Race, Race!
The season is coming to an end and it is time to get excited for the "Jerk" (keep your hands on the wheel). The Jersey Road Racing Classic is just around the corner. The JRRC will be season finale for the NJRRS series - NJRRS Points - as well as the last 2014 race in the Northeast Division. One last opportunity to run your car before the winter break / overhaul.
There will be no separate SCCA Test Day for the JRRC.
Online registration is now open at on the DLB site - Select South Jersey Region as the Club to see the event calendar.

I feel like sometimes the organizers do that on purpose......SM is one of the most subcribed classes and the guys like to race....they will be more likely to stay until the end of the day to race than some of the other classes.

Guys
For the three regionals at NJMP this year, SM was Group 2 at the Lightning Challenge in June, Group 6 at Summer Thunder in August and Group 8 here at The Jerk. We make a honest effort to rotate our race groups so that no one group is always in the same position e.g first or last. We have no control over regionals at other tracks.
The race groups in the NE Majors were rotated in a similar fashion in coordination with Club Racing.

The Jersey Racing Board and NJMP are supporting COATS FOR KIDS
The Jersey Racing Board and New Jersey Motorsports Park are dedicating the 2014 Jersey Road Racing Classic to support Coats for Kids. We will be collecting new coats with their tags attached for infants through young adults. We will also accept other warm clothing including hats, gloves and scarves. This clothing will be distributed to under privileged youths in the South Jersey area.
Our traditional lunch time drivearounds on Saturday and Sunday will also be used to support Coats for Kids. All cash contributions from the drivearounds will be donated to Coats for Kids. All signed-in participants in street legal cars may participate in our track tours.
