So, I'm looking for something that is easier to lock into position after it has been adjusted.
Thoughts?

I have one of the small ioport camera mount. I'm not very happy with it. It comes loose, and the camera moves too easily.

If you have a standard 1/4-20 hole in your camera, this mount works great. Looks more complicated in the picture than it is. Very easy and quick to cinch down the camera and it won't move.

Excellent mount for smaller cameras. Change the hose clamps to the clamps with the wing nut to make for easier installation and adjustment. You can also change the 'legs' to shorter or longer pieces for fine adjustment. It is a Ram mount and you can source those parts easily from Amazon and many other places.

I've been using the following mount for several years ... does not come loose and I notice zero vibration during play back.

The RAM mounts are terrific, reasonably priced, and work great.
