I have an original Miata factory shop manual. You know, the three hole punched 3'' thick one.
If you've ever used one , you know that on their exploded parts diagram they give you lb/ft and Newton meter torque specs for each fastener.
They also use a oil can icon to indicate those fasteners that should be lubricated during assembly.
My question is:
Are they always giving you the ''dry '' or un-lubricated recommended torque and leaving it up to the user to convert to the lubricated torque value ...or...are they giving you the "wet" or lubricated torque only if/when the oil can icon is associated with a fastener ?
The impact of various lubricants can be substantial .
Thanks
