My car came with a spare set of Kosie K-1 wheels, 38mm off-set. Should I buy spacers (Miata-Cage) to make them 30mm or 25mm, or does 8mm+ make a big difference to regional level yuck monkey like myself?

Double check the GCR for the maximum spacer width allowed. I think you can 38 mm offsets to 25 with the rules as written, but I can't remember since I run 30 mm offset wheels.

If you really are just out to have fun and not shooting for the podium, you are probably fine as you are.

Yes you can run a spacer, as that is how my car came, and I have been doing it. This year I am ordering 25mm offset wheels as I found out that those spacers weigh 1.2 lbs each! That should be worth at least 2 seconds a lap at Road America.

Unless you have done tons of other finite details to the car you will never be able to tell which wheels and tires you are running.

13mm (I believe, Check the GCR) is the max offset you can run, making your 38's 25's.
You may also need the long studs for that.

Yep.
13's only on the 38's or smaller.
5's on the 30.
Or you'll go over legal tread width, besides rubbing the fenders.

Use them for your rains and buy new wheels with the offset you want.
