No appearance. The focus was on company capabilities rather than personalities. Although my son is in the CMM shot at 1:19.

Whenever the words "light out "are spoken, I think back to about 1973 when Ron Haymayer start up owner of Adron EDM had one EDM machine, rented space in his uncles sheet metal shop and the probe disccharge machine ran 24/7 with a phone hook up to Ron's home. His son Brian now is president. Today fifty or so machines.

 

Was the hand de-burr at 1:11 to spec.

 

I miss the being around machine/manufacturing shops. Our Spec Miata friend Voytek Burdzy owns a sizable CNC shop in IL.

Years ago(mid 90's) i was doing TI work in a building that housed MDC Vaccum products(Hayward CA). They did all Stainless steel work for companies like Lawrence Livermore Lab and others. Half the building was old Bridgeport mills and the like sitting quiet like fossils while the other half the building with all the new automated equipment spit out parts as fast as guys could load it. Fascinating to watch!

80 ft? Wow, that's just about 75 ft beyond our current capacity. Largest we had was a 10ft bed machine for wings spars but got rid of it when that business fell off.

 

5 Axis DMG's are fun to watch.
