This monkey came on my 99 when I bought it. I want to remove it and replace it with the AFPR I just bought from Dave W. I'm concerned about how the brass fitting is connected to the nipple on the pulsation damper. Any ideas how its connected there and whether it can be removed without destroying the nipple? I thought about retaining the port, but I don't think the new quick disconnects on teh AFPR will fit on the ports nipples and, more importantly, that's alot of places for potential leaks to begin with. Suggestions on what to do?

Looks like a standard plumbing compression fitting. Just loosen and disengage the nut from the body of the fitting and remove the fitting. You may just be able to then slide off the ferrule.

Then again, I could be wrong!!

Does it mean anything that name on the title of the previous owner was "R. Goldberg"?

Since you guys are so admiring, I have great news--the car came with spare parts to build another one!

Check the classifieds--I'm selling the old one for 299 and the new parts for 399. Don't let this opportunity get away!

Looks like leak - not potential leak. Helpful tip - remove fuel filler cap before removing this stuff - releasing pressure will help prevent gas spew.

I would replace the pulsation damper. That compression fitting will have deformed the tube slightly. Could very easily leak or could have a small burr that would damage the o-ring insde the line, causing a leak. I looked and I do not have a spare, but I bet Drago or Planet Miata has one laying around

You may also need the hose and schrader valve fitting for Dave's Fuel Test Port.
Dave has it for $22.
Been there, done that.

Yah, I was going to try to hook it up to this old test port (it doesn't leak), but since I'm removing it, time for another call to Dave!
